Therapy can help to deal with these mood states in a practical way and simultaneously address the underlying psychological causes.

Therapy needs to be two-pronged to help you manage on a day to day level and also to re-organise your psychological ways of dealing with things so that the experience of anxiety or depression or both can be slowly unravelled and resolved.

This is usually a longer term therapy and may be quite a challenging and painful process at times, though very rewarding when you come out the other side.

You may have questions about medication or drug treatment vs talking therapy.

If the anxiety or depression is severe enough that medication is required, then talking therapy will definitely compliment this and I can work in consultation with your General Practitioner or Psychiatrist prescribing the drug treatment if you wish.

Psychotherapy works with your deeper belief systems and ways of functioning that need to change in order for you to have an improvement in your moment-to-moment experience of life.
